Description:
Moorings Park is looking for an Occupational Therapist. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for insuring and coordinating quality and safe delivery occupational therapy services following applicable licensure/certification requirements both State and Federal. The Occupational therapist has responsibility for the planning and therapeutic interventions of all occupational therapy cases.
Contributions:
Evaluates the patient's needs, including medical, psychosocial, and environmental needs.
Develops a clinical assessment based on evaluation/re-evaluation findings and requisition and management of equipment and supplies required to increase the client's function and independence as appropriate to care.
Develop and implements, with physician and patient, individualized Plan of Care based on patient's physical, medical, psychosocial, and environmental needs, and makes appropriate revisions as the patient's condition changes.
Establishes appropriate realistic and measurable goals for patients to achieve, then evaluates progress towards these goals.
Performs an objective evaluation, utilizing precise measurements and documents test results. Performs timely recording of evaluation data, treatments, and client's response to therapy interventions.
Obtains initial and interim physician's orders and reports on progress and changes in client condition to physician and Clinical Manager.
Reviews and revises the skilled therapy care plan as needed.
Educates patient and/or family regarding therapy program and safety. Fits, evaluates and adjusts adaptive devices. Prepares patient/family for discharge.
Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required
- During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster.
- Must be a graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association; or is eligible for the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Currently licensed in the state of Florida.
- Has 2 years of appropriate experience as an occupational therapist
- Have achieved a satisfactory grade on a proficiency examination conducted, approved, or sponsored by the U.S. Public Health Service, except that such determinations of proficiency do not apply with respect to persons initially licensed by a State or seeking initial qualification as an occupational therapist after December 31, 1977
- Previous geriatric and home health experience preferred.
