DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify and alleviate electronic health record (EHR) usability issues among practitioners
Collaborate with practitioners to understand and personalize EHR tools for their specialty
Increase practitioner productivity, engagement, morale, and job satisfaction
Minimize practitioner burnout and apathy toward future upgrades/adoption
Advocate for physicians in the implementation of the electronic health record system (EHR) in their workflows
Improve the EHR system for clinicians.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in applicable clinical area of practice OR Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
Epic certification, accreditation, or proficiency
5+ years' experience must include the below
5+ years of experience with the Epic EHR system in IT (as an Analyst, Informaticist, or Trainer) or in healthcare (as a clinical end user)
4+ years of experience using, teaching, and/or implementing Epic clinical applications
4+ years of demonstrated training or support experience within the Epic EHR system, including designing, developing, presenting, or implementing curricula or workflows
3+ years of experience with at least 3 Epic modules, such EpicCare, OpTime, ClinDoc, Orders, Stork, Kaleidoscope, ASAP, Phoenix, Beacon, or Cupid
3+ years of experience with Epic reporting functionality such as Signal, Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, and other analytic tools
3+ years of experience with at least 3 ancillary applications, such as Epic Haiku and Canto, Dragon Medical One, or future ambient documentation solutions
Strong ability to analyze and recommend process improvements for system issues and workflows
2+ years of experience with developing Epic SmartTools
Previous experience training Epic EHR clinical applications
