Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Design & Engineering Manager (DM) will have expertise in working on various design stages from conceptual design through to construction documents. You will collaborate with the Modular Genius project team and our customers to produce accurate and efficient designs that meet our clients' needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all Modular Genius, Inc. Safety Policies, OSHA, customer and/or site-specific safety requirements.
  • Abide by all Modular Genius, Inc. policies as found in the "Modular Genius, Inc. Employee Handbook"
  • Work within deadlines in a fast-paced environment to provide sales support design drawings and construction design documents for all aspects of the project process.
  • Utilize Modular Genius' CADD and project management software (Procore) for various aspects of the project including, but not limited to; design, RFI, document management, submittals and general project communication.
  • Working with Business Development, Construction and Project Managers manage the design deliverables for assigned projects.
  • Review and ensure work is done in compliance with all applicable building codes and in accordance with project documents.
  • Assist in advising the Stakeholders on project related matters, such as space planning, layout, architectural design, statutory code compliance issues/implications and other technical issues
  • Support the design and coordination process throughout design and documentation phases and ensure the resolution of design and technical coordination issues
  • Support in reviewing and consolidating Stakeholders' feedback on design deliverables documents
  • Produce building design documents to include floor plans, elevations, MEP layouts, foundation and site schematics/conceptual drawings.
  • Attending project calls with the MGI project team and customers to support the team.
  • Providing design and technical support / resolution to site queries / issues over the duration of Construction, as and when required
  • Collaborate and work with existing Design and Engineering team members to help identify team goals and initiatives for the business.

  • Research applicable code requirements to include in design and offer information to the project team to support resolution of issues.
  • Any other tasks that may arise during the course of the project


Qualifications (Skills, Abilities, and Experience Required)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is required
  • Experience with Revit and other design software is a plus
  • Strong understanding of architectural design, construction detailing, and building codes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work full-time and be part of a dynamic team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Preferred proficiency (not required) in Procore or willingness to learn
  • Skill in communicating accurately in verbal and written formats.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to company processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work as a team with Business Development, Design, Project Management, and Leadership.
