The Payroll Manager will be responsible for leading all company payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the position will develop and implement policies and procedures, lead a payroll team and execute on various Payroll and HR initiatives. The Payroll Manager will also build positive relationships with business partners and stakeholders to ensure payroll practices are proactively developed.

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for leading all company payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the position will develop and implement policies and procedures, lead a payroll team and execute on various Payroll and HR initiatives. The Payroll Manager will also build positive relationships with business partners and stakeholders to ensure payroll practices are proactively developed.
Essential Duties:
- Manage payroll functions for the company across all entities, states, and jurisdictions.
- Develop and lead a team of direct reports responsible for payroll administration.
- Identify and lead improvement of internal processes in a controlled, Sarbanes Oxley "SOX", environment.
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, stock awards and grants, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Proactively partners with business leaders to ensure supervisors are compliantly and timely managing payroll requirements.
- Continuously reviews laws, rules, and regulations that apply to the payroll functions and partners with legal and other stakeholders to ensure compliance.
- Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures in compliance with SOX, and identifies recommendations to action.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
- Manage timekeeping and payroll systems and oversee any system or technology implementations.
Other Functions
- Support Company initiatives through design, development, and reporting activities.
- Maintain Company compliance and reporting standards.
- Ensure payroll data security and confidentiality.
- General payroll project related activities and system implementation oversight.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field, required
- 7+ years of related experience.
- Experience leading direct reports.
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including the preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll tax.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
