Description

Directs the multi-sectioned office responsible for communication of the Division's news and information; plans, organizes, supervises, and evaluates all activities, program functions, personnel, physical, and fiscal resources of the assigned office; is responsible and accountable for strategic planning and outcomes.

Qualifications

Required
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment.
  • Six (6) years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field, some of which shall have been in a supervisory or leadership role.
    • Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, functions, and current trends of administration of the office and the department to which assigned.
  • Ability to manage fiscal, physical, and human resources to successfully carry out the function and programs of the office to which assigned.
  • Ability to supervise and lead.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with personnel assigned to schools, other departments, public entities, and citizens.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
  • Master's degree.
