Description:
ARES is seeking a Interfaces Lead - EHP Pressurized Rover. Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for an Interfaces Lead - Senior Systems Engineer supporting the Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP), Pressurized Rover Project on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration (HSFTIC) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).
The Interface Lead will:
Manage a team responsible for the development of internal and external interfaces to the Pressurized Rover using systems engineering principles and techniques, leading to maturation of program Interface Control Documents (ICDs) / Interface Requirement Documents (IRDs).
Provide the skills to both performed required work independently with minimal guidance as well as the ability to thrive in a team environment
Ability to track and manage multiple tasks in parallel is a must
Develop long range plans/schedules for the Interface Team's products and support of major program milestones and reviews.
Lead issues to resolution involving multiple disciplines and organizations
Travel to Japan as needed to enhance coordination and support major reviews with NASAs Pressurized Rover partners.
Mentor team members to enhance their overall skill set.
Establish and cultivate working relationships with NASA leads, subject matter experts and requirement owners as well as JAXA teammates' key personnel
Minimum Requirements:
Applied knowledge of product life cycle development, sound systems engineering & integration principles, and strong working knowledge of associated engineering disciplines
Comprehensive working knowledge of systems engineering practices associated with the definition, design, development, verification, implementation, testing, integration, and validation of complex systems
Extensive experience with innovation or process improvements projects and initiatives
Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination, and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Space Exploration programs
Working experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software, JIRA or other similar tools
Working experience with data digitization software (DDS) for systems engineering
Working experience with DOORS requirements management software or other requirements management software
Education and Relevant Work Experience:
BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school, plus a minimum of 20 years of applicable and progressive engineering experience
