Position Summary
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the Illinois Eye and Ear (IEE) is seeking an OPEN RANK (CT) clinical faculty and Staff Optometrist to work in the Division of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Adult Strabismus. The provider will also have clinical opportunity at our satellite clinics such as 55th and Pulaski (FFP), Millennium Park Eye Center (MPEC), and Mile Square Health Center (MSHC).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • The full-time, tenure track position will involve outpatient and inpatient clinical practice, resident, fellow, and medical student education, and academic pursuits including clinical and/or basic research. There are opportunities for substantial research support and time.
  • Manage pediatric ophthalmology patients with their refractive needs and school exams.
  • Work in coordination with pediatric ophthalmology faculty for managing pediatric patients with amblyopia.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications
    Requires a Doctor of Optometry degree (O.D.) from an accredited school of Optometry along with residency training and eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Illinois.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Advanced training in pediatric care is preferred and will have the chance to practice to the full extent of their optometry license.
