Perikin Enterprises is seeking a Senior Engineer III for a position supporting High Speed Systems Test (HSST) SkyRange. This position is in support of Perikin's contract to provide engineering services; program, project, financial, and information management; and administrative support to the HSST program, Hypersonic Test & Evaluation Investment Program (HyTIP), and SkyRange program at AEDC. The HSST program develops new technologies to improve the test and evaluation (T&E) of high-speed and hypersonic systems. HyTIP executes projects to advance and integrate those technologies into the DoD's Major Range and Test Facility Bases (MRTFB). SkyRange is repurposing aircraft such as RQ-4, MQ-9, and Gulfstream IV outfitted with new advanced sensors to support hypersonic flight tests over the Broad Ocean Area. These missions are executed by entering into agreements with DoD, NASA, and DoE organizations and letting contracts to private industry and universities. Combined HSST, HyTIP, and SkyRange are executing over thirty projects across the country that will transform America's hypersonic T&E capabilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for support several facets for the SkyRange program. The Senior Engineer III will be responsible for assisting with leading a team of technical experts with a wide range of expertise to assist the government in developing, integrating, testing, and employing novel sensors on manned, unmanned, and optionally manned platforms to further hypersonic missile development flight and ground testing activities. In addition, the SkyRange Senior Engineer III will collaborate with the management team on contracting, scheduling, and financial management aspects for all SkyRange-supported efforts.

This position is eligible for a fully remote work schedule.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
  • Supporting the development of new ground/flight test, instrumentation, and analysis technologies and test techniques
  • Overseeing planning, execution, analysis, and reporting of aerodynamic, aerothermal, propulsion, seeker/sensor, and other tests for hypersonic/high-speed system development
  • Performing independent engineering analysis in support of design validation and in the process of technical issue resolution
  • Providing technical subject matter expertise supporting integrated product teams (IPTs) during the development and integration of novel sensors such as telemetry capture, optics, high altitude atmospheric sensing, flight safety/termination, terminal scoring, and range surveillance and clearing
  • Airworthiness processes support
  • Coordinating requirements, plans, and objectives with internal and external test customers
  • Leading the preparation, review, and dissemination of detailed test plans
  • Leading the identification and resolution of design and operational deficiencies
  • Overseeing and engaging with performing contractors for preliminary/critical design reviews
  • Maintain excellent communication and coordination with USAF and OSD personnel

EDUCATION
  • Minimum 15 years experience in aerospace engineering
  • BS/MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or related field

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering, Earned Value Management (EVM); Risk Management, Failure mode, effects, and criticality analysis (FMECA), and other management and systems engineering tools
  • Unwavering attention to detail, exemplary work ethic, and grace under pressure
  • Ability to build positive relationships with coworkers and executing organizations
  • Mastery of Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Current Secret security clearance or eligibility for Secret clearance
