Position Title: Quarry Manager

Plant Location: Bath, PA

About the Role: Keystone Cement Company is seeking a Quarry Manager to manage the daily operation of the quarrying, crushing, and aggregate manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and administer safety in all areas of the position's responsibility including inspections, identification and correction of hazards, ensuring training completed, and cooperating with all external inspectors.
  • Manage environmental site compliance with respect to water quality, mine site benching, fugitive emissions, blasting and drilling.
  • Effectively work in conjunction with quality control and the quarry mine plan in order to effectively manage reserves; conduct short-term mine planning consistent with the long-term plan and plant goals.
  • Work in a team capacity with quality control, production, and process managers to achieve a raw mix chemistry and stone sizing that consistently allows for efficient production of quality product as well as provide general assistance to the plant when needed.
  • Effectively manage all mobile and stationary equipment for maximum efficiency, safety, through-puts, up-time, etc.
  • Manage drilling and blasting within the facility to plan for the best sizing for the least cost to enable the crushing system to be optimized. Conduct blasts in a manner that is sensitive to community needs and relations.
  • Develop both fixed and operating budgets consistent with the annual operating plan, track financial/production performance, and prepare various reports for company utilization.
  • Support and motivate the workforce to keep a productive quarry operating. Identify training needs to provide development opportunities to employees. Ensure compliance with our Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain a working proficiency with the appropriate systems.

Requirements:
  • 4-year degree in Mining, Geology, or a related engineering discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in mining or quarrying; 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and delegation abilities.
  • Ability to successfully interact and lead in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of cement or lime production.
  • Familiarity with CAD and/or mine planning software.
  • Ability to walk rough terrain in quarrying operation.
  • Wear the required MSHA safety equipment, including respirator (when needed).
