We are seeking an experienced Credit Manager to help lead and mentor a team of analysts. This role is pivotal in managing credit risk, overseeing collections, and collaborating across departments like Sales, Billing, Accounting, and Cash Applications. You'll play a key part in safeguarding the company's financial interests by evaluating customer creditworthiness, establishing credit limits, and supporting the continued growth and success of Milestone's leasing and rental operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead routine credit assessments and reviews for current customers, ensuring compliance with departmental policies. Take proactive steps based on credit risk analysis.
  • Manage the timely processing of credit applications. Work closely with the Sales team to gather required documentation such as financial statements, proof of insurance, and customer guarantees.
  • Clearly communicate credit decisions to the Sales team, ensuring they are informed and supported.
  • Conduct thorough financial analyses using both internal data and third-party reports to make informed credit recommendations.
  • Create a schedule to regularly review existing customer credit limits supported by full financial statement review and analysis.
  • Liaise directly with customers to discuss credit limits and the criteria for increasing them when necessary.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive credit reports to the Executive Leadership Team, and actively participate in monthly credit meetings.
  • Monitor and develop plans of action revolving around departmental Key Performance Indicators.
  • Collaborate with the Cash Team on resolving cash account discrepancies and ensure accurate allocation to customer invoices.
  • Join regular calls with Sales teams, focusing on resolving overdue accounts and addressing slow payment concerns.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Team to ensure timely processing of repair invoices and to apply insurance payments accurately.
  • Support legal actions related to collections by coordinating with General Counsel and external legal teams, providing necessary documentation.
  • Manage Credit Department direct reports, reviewing the account set-up process and measuring predetermined KPI's to ensure satisfactory turnaround times.
  • Mentoring Accounts Receivable Team to provide guidance and escalation directives as needed to minimize company risk.
  • Propose and support efforts to put new systems in place to automate credit decisioning and improve overall cash flow cycle.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 3 years of managerial experience in credit and collections, with people management responsibilities.
  • Experience in the leasing, rental, or equipment finance industry is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with credit card management and PCI compliance is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of finance and commercial insurance, with an understanding of liability and physical damage coverage.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills with demonstrated proficiency.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, D&B, and Billtrust is a plus.
