CORPORATE SUMMARY:

Headquartered in Weston, FL, The Legacy Companies develops, manufacturers, and markets a variety of Commercial and Consumer appliances. The Consumer brand portfolio includes multiple brands, inclusive of Avanti, Vinotemp, Brama, West Bend, Chef's Choice, Yonanas, Omega, Excalibur, Vinturi, and Zeroll. These brands represent over twenty categories of products in countertop electrics, large appliances, and specialty wine & beverage refrigeration.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Vice President, Product Management, the Product Manager will partner in the management of the Compact and Large Appliance categories. Collectively, these brands represent over 200 SKUs and have revenues in excess of $100M. The primary charter for this position is to lead in the development of brand and product strategies for current and future products across the assigned brands. This will require a history of success in building consumer demand and growing market share by applying a deep knowledge of the consumer, channel partners, categories, and marketing tactics/programs.

The Product Manager will participate in the development and implementation of the product strategies for each category and manage new product development activities, pricing, and portfolio management. This will require the Product Manager to develop relationships with cross- functional counterparts to influence deliverables from Product, Engineering, and Souring teams domestically and overseas. As the product/category champion, the Product Manager will partner with Sales leadership to create and implement impactful channel and/or account specific sell-in strategies for current and future products.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Category Strategy & Product Management:
  • Oversee select brands within the TLC Countertop Appliance product portfolio, which is comprised primarily of the Avanti and West Bend brands.
  • Responsible for managing product lifecycles and new product innovation for each product category.
  • Build long-term product roadmaps for each channel and/or category.
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research, consumer insights, and soliciting channel partner feedback.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to execute the product development and road mapping process.
  • Manage the overall marketing inputs that drive product development, product modification, and product obsolescence activities.
  • Evaluate, select, and pitch product innovations that will spur growth across current and emerging customers/channels.
  • Act as the internal and external product/category champion for Compact and Large appliance products. Liaise with internal teams to educate them on the competitive landscape, consumer needs, and marketplace requirements.
  • Track and analyze product life cycles by category to observe, understand, document, and report on patterns of performance
  • Partner cross-functionally to shepherd new product development projects from ideation to launch.
  • Work with overseas sourcing teams and factories to bring products to market.
  • Oversee products as they sunset and partner with sales on the best way to manage any excess inventory to avoid channel conflict.

Content Development:
  • Monitor objectives in the development of packaging to ensure alignment with the brand vision.
  • Track deliverables from internal design teams and third-party agencies to ensure timely delivery of assets for current and new products (copy, infographics, A+ content, etc.)

Pricing Management:
  • Responsible for category and item level costs and margins
  • Partner with Trade Marketing team to ensure a responsible margin structure is offered and extended to the TLC customer base.

Customer Engagement:
  • As the Product Champion, partner with the Trade team to develop successful sell-in strategies that result in market share growth and successful in-store and online placement.
  • Partner with sales to ensure new product launches and brand programs are clearly communicated and properly implemented in-store and online.
  • Engage cross-functionally with department leaders to develop and execute a comprehensive plan that supports business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate on all key activities that deliver best-in-class results. Work closely with digital and creative teams to execute objectives
  • Interface with cross functional teams to compile weekly communications for Sales team
  • Turn cross functional inputs (consumer insights, category data, marketing plans, product/portfolio updates) into customer friendly communications/format
  • Partner with creative teams for all marketing projects and ensure final assets are in hand and/or distributed to key partners in advance of new product launches
  • Customize marketing materials for channels/customers as needed with input from Sales & Creative teams
  • Support sales team members with ad hoc requests.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Marketing with demonstrated success influencing Product Development, Product Management, Product Marketing, and Trade Marketing activities as an Individual Contributor and/or Manager.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills - ability to influence and manage large ideas/projects across a matrixed organization.
  • Values the ideas and opinions of others as part of the decision-making process.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully leading product management or development in the delivery of new products/SKUs.
  • Experienced in the management of multiple products and brands.
  • Strong financial acumen with a history of success managing costs and pricing.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skill
  • Four-year college degree, MBA Preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point
