UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a Nurse Manager to lead our General Internal Medicine and Cardiology unit.

SCHEDULE

  • Full-time, day shift with occasional telework
    POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Provides leadership and coordination for the unit
  • Guides and directs the activities of the Staff Nurses, Assistant Nurse Managers, Patient Care Technicians and support staff.
  • Function as a liaison between patients, physicians and other healthcare providers
    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    Our General Internal Medicine and Cardiology (6NE) unit is a 30-bed unit that specializes in providing acute care for diverse medical/surgical/cardiology patients who are acutely ill or injured and in varying stages of recuperation from diagnostic, therapeutic or surgical interventions. Patients with respiratory, medical, cardiac, or surgical diagnoses who require telemetry monitoring are admitted to this unit.
    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Hires and supervises staff; development of performance standards
  • Supports hospital mission and objectives
  • Focuses on continuous improvement in the quality of patient care; monitors care practice by staff
  • Plans and manages the unit's budget
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Masters degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field, or enrolled in a Master's program. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • At least two years formal supervisory leadership experience in acute care med-surg nursing.
  • BLS certification
