Position Overview
Independently provides support for all derivative valuation and risk metric issues. Hands on implementation of solutions in subsystems. Propose solutions and provide thought leadership on other key structural issues. Mentors and trains the analysts and associate analysts of the group.
Responsibilities
Evaluate and implement solutions for new derivatives from new strategies for valuation and risk metrics.
Provide Secondary support to team for the higher-level duties associated with the group's task list and act as secondary backup as needed for day-to-day activities
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
Bachelor's degree in business, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or equivalent working experience
10+ years related industry work experience including 3+ years in derivative valuation activities
Preferred:
Derivative trading or risk management/control experience
CFA Accreditation or MBA or master's degree in business, science, or mathematics or advanced actuarial level
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required:
Advanced knowledge of valuation concepts for cashflow discounting models
Intermediate market knowledge (differences between US and non US markets)
Strong ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of broad investments business practices
Good ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects, including the ability to re-prioritize tasks constantly based on the level of activity generated by the team and other associates.
Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to share and impart knowledge and to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by all stakeholders, including customers and managed associates
Advanced investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/ team projects
Ability to balance details with departmental goals/ objectives.
Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/ accepted solutions
Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management
Intermediate negotiating and persuasion skills

The general pay range for this position is $145K-$175K base per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. Responsibilities
Evaluate and implement solutions for new derivatives from new strategies for valuation and risk metrics.
- Monitor new deal activities involving derivative activities (Inv Solutions, business forums, PMs)
- Evaluate subsystem capabilities (Findur, Aladdin, IDW) for generating scalable solutions
- Monitor current market conditions and market data sources
- Implement valuation formulas, tools, structured deal types, and associated new curves in primary system (Findur) for proper valuation support. Monitor and update requirements as needed
- Manage the production of all standard valuation and risk metric reporting
- Establish risk metric and stress test standards where needed
- Understand, summarize, and distribute daily / week risk reporting to senior management and other functions such as Corporate Risk and corporate governance committees
- Support requirements of Derivative Valuation Committee
- Maintain controls for valuation aspects including monitoring of the end-of-day simulation results for derivative valuations, risk, and positions
- Act as point person for valuation issues including training of Derivative Middle Office and interaction with other valuation areas in the company
Provide Secondary support to team for the higher-level duties associated with the group's task list and act as secondary backup as needed for day-to-day activities
- Manage the Analysis and the explanation of the day-over-day move in valuations, risk and positions for stand-alone derivatives and derivatives paired with associated securities and train and supervise analysts to produce the necessary supporting information
- Support performance attribution and hedge effectiveness reporting.
- Serves as a secondary back up to the Derivative Operations team as needed
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
