Performs varied and complex administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and/or program. Major/Essential Functions
The Assistant Director serves as the lead support for IT Combest operations, which include the TTUHSC Combest clinics, programs, & non-clinical areas. The Assistant Director of IT has an expert level of technical knowledge and experience in one or more IT-related areas. The employee in this position plans and directs the overall information technology (IT) operations of the department and has an expert level of technical knowledge and experience in one or more IT related areas. Employee specializes in hardware and software that support institutional strategic initiatives and manages the department IT projects that impact all Combest areas. Under senior leadership direction, performs administrative duties involving the use of independent judgment and professional skills. Employee provides supervision for the IT staff(s). Employee provides strategic planning information to the leadership team for IT needs of the department. Additionally, employee provides IT support in other areas such as analyzing IT concerns towards a positive resolution, oversees equipment inventory, replacement and/or maintenance. Other areas of departmental responsibility include overseeing COMM Services efforts to include e-fax, SIP DIDs, paging groups, requesting CxOne agents, and assisting with Avaya phone issues. Manage department distribution lists, shared calendars, maintaining various group lists and other IT related areas.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Three years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

The scope of responsibility includes:
- Oversees Combest IT operations and supervises lead subordinate employee(s) of IT department.
- Provide and oversee technical support and assistance to clinics, programs, and employees with the use of hardware and some software support and maintenance.
- Specializes in hardware and software that support institutional strategic initiatives, and manage area or unit IT projects that impact multiple clinics or programs.
- Inventory Management - Responsible for ordering of equipment and supplies for the division and maintains an accurate inventory of controlled assets and other SON / Combest equipment. Keeps spare equipment in working order to be used as a backup if needed.
- Assists with set up for training sessions and meetings as needed at Combest Center to ensure technology is functional.
- Manage Combest Organizational Unit (OU) within Active Directory.
- Provide an IT overview for new Combest employees including activating eRaider accounts, Comm Services, and e-fax as identified in addition to other onboarding needs.
- Maintain appropriate Dell certifications necessary to perform warranty repairs of Dell desktops and laptops.
- Collaborates and acts as liaison with SON and TTUHSC IT regarding IT Projects related to SON growth, such as office expansion, building construction, infrastructure upgrades, and network topology.
- Assists in solving network associated access problems encountered by Combest personnel.
- Diligently attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing assigned technical tasks.
- Provides planning for Combest IT enhancements, upgrades, and maintenance of desktop computers and other equipment as identified.
- Manage existing Combest IT initiatives, to include the Combest SharePoint site, Combest digital signage, Combest Distribution Lists, Combest departmental share drives, and assistance with leased copiers.
- Align with the TTUHSC Value-Based Culture, Vision, & Mission of the TTUHSC, SON, & Combest.
Preferred Qualifications
- Have nine plus years of experience working in Information Technology in a clinical setting plus three years supervisory experience.
- Be a Dell Certified Technician
- Experience working within SharePoint (development and management)
- Experience working with people of different academic and administrative disciplines, including those with varying degrees of technical experience and knowledge.
- Experience with PC and Apple hardware systems as well as operating systems and common software packages in order to diagnose and troubleshoot problems.
- Experience working under difficult situations while maintaining poise and professionalism.
- Have experience with strategic planning for IT needs and IT oversight experience.
- Have a thorough knowledge of and experience with clinical IT applications and support.
