PURPOSE: As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Financial Officer will oversee Finance, Accounting, Enterprise Risk Management, and Compliance.

- Drives the development and implantation of the Strategic Plan. Recommend short and long-term strategies and provides to achieve BankFive' s goals and objectives;
- Managements and provides for the continuing development of team. Aligns the unit's goals with strategic financial priorities and operations to drive effectiveness. Conducts performance reviews, provides guidance and direction to staff in development and implementing plans and objectives;
- Responsible for financial, regulatory, and tax reporting and audit oversight. Supervises preparation of all financial reports. This includes monthly and annual financial statements, regular management overviews, tax returns, Call Reports, and other regulatory requirements. Coordinates account procedures and internal controls so they are performed in accordance with laws and regulations, including GAAP;
- Coordinates the development and management of the Bank-wide budget program. Monitors and reports on the financial position of the Bank. Prepares short and long-term financial projections and annual budgets (assets, liabilities, reserves, income, and expenses).Makes periodic cash flow and liquidity projections and monitors actual experience. Ensures early detection of unexpected trends and takes steps necessary to initiate corrective actions;
- Responsible for all aspects of Asset Liability Management and Treasury. This includes oversite for the investment portfolio, cash management, asset/liability management, secondary loan sales, and ensuring adequate liquidity.
- Develop and implement operating policies and procedures to comply with regulatory requirements, Bank guidelines, and market conditions. Ensure adequate and proper internal controls exist at the Bank. Service as the Bank's liaison and information resource for external auditors as well as state and federal regulatory examiners.
- In conjunction with the Director of Risk Management and Compliance, oversee the evaluation, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of the key risks of the Bank.
- Directly and through others supervises Finance Department and oversees Risk Management division.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A demonstrated performance record in proactively leading a Finance/Accounting function in the financial services and/or regulated industry. This includes proficiency in financial reporting, modeling, budgeting/strategic planning, and profitability analysis.
- Knowledge and historical oversight for internal accounting, financial forecasting/cost benefit analysis, GAAP, and market analysis.
- Prior balance sheet management experience, including oversight for ALCO, treasury/investment management, pricing, and interest rate management.
- Experience with and/or exposure to Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Mortgage Banking, and/or Hedging would be highly valued.
- Management experience and proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Effective communication, organizational, and decision making skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting or related field. At least ten years of experience in an accounting or other relevant financial position is required.
EFFORT:
- Must be able to provide for transportation throughout southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island (and other New England states if necessary), performing appraisals and or property inspections
- Able to meet strict deadlines.
- Work includes changing priorities for multiple, simultaneous projects
- Will be sitting while performing computer data entry functions approximately 6 hours per day.
- Essential to follow written and verbal directions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, photocopiers, and scanners.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Standard 40 -hour work week expected, though position may sometimes require early arrival, late departure, and/or Saturday / Sunday hours.
- Private office.
- Frequent distractions include overhearing coworker conversations, employees working through the area and similar interruptions.
