Summary

The Director of Supply and Distribution maintains a competitive fuel purchasing program, ensures availability of supply, and facilitates best in class order management and fuel delivery processes by performing the following duties:
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and manage corporate fuel supply contracts and agreements.
- Negotiate highly competitive contracts and logistics for base fuel supply and identify advantaged opportunistic purchases.
- Accountable for fuel cost competitiveness/procuring lowest cost products.
- Oversee the Supply Economics, Pricing Support, Order Management and Dispatch functions.
- Directly supervise two managers and indirectly supervise three employees in the fuel dispatch area.
- Communicate strategy, provide high level performance oversight, and advise on opportunities and tactics for improved efficiency and profitability.
- Fulfill fuels related legal, regulatory, compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Develop robust supply and distribution analytics and reporting capabilities from raw data. Create metrics to ensure the profitability of the company is optimized.
- Grow corporate supply and logistics capabilities.
- Maintain market intelligence and subject matter expertise in transportation economics, refined fuels markets, and fuel supply principles to inform and optimize supply and distribution capability.
- Provide support and consultation on customer bids, contracts, and opportunities.
- Serve as primary liaison with carriers, internal trucking operations, suppliers, and an extensive network of industry contacts.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all PNW supply sources and logistics dynamics.
- Develop strategic relationships with decision makers of key carriers and fuel suppliers to ensure PetroCard has the most favorable opportunities over time.
- Manage complex climate and carbon policy requirements and reporting.
- Represent PetroCard at industry conferences and events, at times serving as a speaker on panels or as a key presenter.
- Serve on cross-functional teams and projects to address strategic issues, promote organizational knowledge of supply and distribution principles, and participate in setting the strategic plan.
- Recommend new customer and growth opportunities.
- Develop corporate supply and logistics strategies aligned with company's strategic objectives.
- Develop and implement short and long-term fuel supply strategy within multiple geographies.
- Evaluate supply/demand dynamics and fuel related policies and legislation that affect supply strategy.
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or eight to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial fuel logistics, procurement, and pricing. Fuels market knowledge required, PNW market knowledge preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years total work experience.
- Progressive leadership experience in a medium or large organization preferred.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of project planning, development and evaluation as well as the ability to meet project deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical users.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and exercises superior judgment to make decisions.
- Demonstrated record of delivering results by leveraging the capabilities of the team.
