As the Personal Lines Auto Underwriting Effectiveness Leader, you will oversee and manage the effectiveness of underwriting solutions that will enable profitable growth for the PL Auto organization. Using competitive research, the team drives the development and deployment of underwriting solutions that enable Liberty to become a Best-in-Class underwriter.
This job requires close collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization, drives initiatives forward as well as leverages an analytical/data-driven approach. This position reports to the Chief Product Officer in USRM Auto Product.

Responsibilities
- Set guidelines and influences strategy aimed at improving Business Insurance Underwriting effectiveness in coordination with senior and executive leadership across Business Insurance field operations, home office functions, and CI.
- Identifies, manages, and monitors opportunities in all areas of focus including compliance, UW process, knowledge management, training, and QA coordination. Adopts opportunities identified by the regions and evaluates scalability across the country-wide operations.
- Drives quality of underwriter decision making through regular reviews and ownership of underwriting standards.
- Oversees the design and streamlining of the UW process and conducts workforce planning leverages technology solutions to improve and/or support process performance.
- Executes on UW effectiveness programs and strategies through change management and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Oversees communication and knowledge management initiatives across Business Insurance develops systems, makes recommendations for metrics and aligns resources for top priority initiatives.
- Influences prioritization and strategic direction of the Business Insurance underwriting platform
- Utilizes strong management skills to direct a highly talented group of project managers and analysts to achieve success drives clarity of business strategies and operating procedures and ensures strategies align within and across functions.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of underwriting operations, processes and tools; understanding of change management, knowledge management and project management concepts
- Ability to exercise influence while working cross functionally and building relationships
- Skills and competencies include project management, process mapping, strategic mindset, organizational agility, creative thinking, achievement-oriented, collaborative, highly adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and ability to plan, organize and get work done through others
- Knowledge, skills and competencies as normally acquired through the possession of an advanced degree (e

- MBA) and 10+ years of experience in commercial insurance
