Job Summary: The Project Controls Manager will handle planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and reporting for data center, fiber optics, and telecommunication projects. This includes leading a team and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Controls Planning: Develop and maintain project controls plans and procedures.
  • Scheduling: Implement and maintain project schedules with resource loading and critical path analysis.
  • Cost Management: Manage budgets, track costs, prepare financial forecasts, and develop cost management strategies.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and opportunities.
  • Reporting: Provide accurate and timely progress updates, cost reports, and risk registers to stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide a team of project controls professionals.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with project managers, estimators, finance, designers, and engineers to achieve project objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Draft and improve project management processes and become an SME on company software.
  • Performance Oversight: Oversee cost controls, change management, risk management, earned value, and scheduling efforts.
  • Project Health: Evaluate project health and maintain communication with leadership.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate activities and inputs with engineering, construction, and procurement teams.
  • Audit and Review: Review and audit cost, progress, and schedule reports.
  • Governance and Progress Control: Establish milestones and monitor progress, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Customer Acceptance: Define acceptance criteria, ensure deliverables meet expectations, and facilitate signoff.
  • Project Closeout: Lead project closeout reviews and share lessons learned.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or related field (PMP preferred)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and tools
  • Analytical and strategic with a hands-on leadership style
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience in NetSuite preferred
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively across all levels
