Responsibilities:
Sales and Business Development
- Lead the end-to-end process of developing project proposals, including understanding client requirements, conducting research, drafting content, and coordinating contributions from various stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and the technical requirements of their applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project plans, timelines, and resource requirements for proposal development, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Develop strategic approaches for proposal development, including positioning the organization's capabilities, identifying unique selling points, and addressing client needs and concerns.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of proposals with client requirements, organizational standards, and industry best practices.
Team Leadership
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior staff members involved in proposal development, fostering their professional growth and development within the organization.
- Serve as the technical expert for relief valve products, providing guidance to both customers and internal sales teams.
Technical Expertise and Support
- Work with engineering teams to develop customized solutions that address specific customer requirements.
- Provide technical training and support to sales representatives and distributors.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, acting as the primary point of contact for technical inquiries and issues.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their long-term goals and how the company's products can support them.
- Handle complex negotiations and contract discussions, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
Cross Functional Work
- Coordinate with the engineering, product development, and production teams to ensure that customer requirements are fully understood and met.
- Provide market feedback to product development teams to influence new product designs and improvements.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop technical sales materials, such as product brochures, case studies, and white papers
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among internal teams and subject matter experts to gather input, insights, and feedback for proposal development.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering & 5 years of experience.
- Must demonstrate expertise of ASME Section XIII, ASME Section VIII-1, API 520, API 521, API 526, API 527, and other applicable codes/standards
- Required thorough understanding of PED and CRN
- Ability to comprehend global regulatory standards and translate to current product strengths and weaknesses.
- Proven experience in project management, proposal development, or a related field, with a track record of successfully leading the development and submission of complex proposals.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools/software.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to proposal development and project management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, negotiate effectively, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
