Estimator
Job Summary:
The Estimator is responsible for developing accurate and timely proposals and estimates for projects to ensure that NTI is a responsive bidder. Works with a team of Project Managers and Area Directors in the development of multidisciplinary estimates and works independently on projects of lesser scope and complexity.
Responsibilities:
Prepare estimate of costs for materials, labor and equipment based on provided scope of work, drawings, and specifications.
Work with distribution to maintain best available pricing and lead times.
Prepare cost breakouts and submit onto Excel bid form.
Prepare proposals based on scope of work and bid specifications.
Work with team, customer, or end user to generate RFI's.
Work with team, customer, or end user to generate work schedule.
Work with team to provide ideas and improvements.
Work with project management team to create project schedule.
Reviews and understands all bid documents and material requirements to assess constructability and product material requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree "preferred".
5+ years of experience Competencies.
Extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles.
Able to work independently without much supervision and work well with a team.
Understands Costs and Market Conditions.
Takes accountability for delivering on commitments.
Identifies and understands differences in subcontractor quotations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Advanced computer skills with estimating software.
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, changing environment.
Some travel is required for projects that are bidding in different regions.
