The Market Development Director, New Markets position requires a qualified candidate to be responsible for Strategy, Market insights, and Sales into current and new markets such as, but not limited to, the: chemical, cosmetics, and nutraceuticals markets. This function, working in conjunction with the relevant Product Manager and Senior Business leader, will include implementing new growth and differentiation strategies within the current portfolio of Products and Services, as well as helping to drive growth for any new opportunities. This will be accomplished by developing plans with the internal business leadership team and implementing Sales strategies cross-functionally, potentially with other functional groups within the Company. In addition, this individual should be able to perform portfolio business strategy analyses, evaluate the risk and performance of this strategy, and convey findings to the business leadership. These activities may include client meetings, working with consultants, and working across different levels of the Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Implement new growth strategies for the current portfolio of Products and Service in new market spaces.
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the ADME market as well as the Products and Services.
- Maintain updated knowledge on industry trends and analyze how they may impact the Business.
- Participate in client and prospect meetings and potentially other industry-related forums to gain insight and provide insight and expertise to customers.
- Participate and lead cross function work groups to develop plans with the internal business leadership team and implement plans cross-functionally with the commercial and operations team and with customers.
- Apply detailed understanding of market and customer expectations and goals as it relates to Operational capabilities within the Products and Services.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and any portfolio management teams to support product/service positioning including support in developing materials, sales training, and direct sales support.
- Within the implementation of any strategies, direct sales and sales support may be required especially for new Products and Services.
- Develop project plans and present those plans to Business and Senior Leadership.
- Conceptualize and perform portfolio strategy analyses to understand and identify gaps. Also evaluate risk and performance of each strategy or new product/services and convey findings to business leadership.
- Actively update internal staff and clients on industry trends, provide insights on how they affect client goals and product offerings, and provide input and recommendations on new product development opportunities.
- Foster a spirit of teamwork within the Portfolio Specialist team and across the department.
- Ensure all work activities are in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) from four-year college or university; or high school graduate with three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree in a biological or chemical science field preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in a Commercial, Business Development, or Product Management role required
- Detailed knowledge of the ADME or Toxicity Testing market, portfolio strategies, and Commercial procedures preferred
- Knowledge of ADME-related technologies used within products and services
- In-depth knowledge of Commercial concepts and products
- Proficient in Office, SalesForce, and other relevant productivity tools
