Terms of Employment
Full-time, 205 days (Days and salary will be prorated depending on the start date). Salary is based on experience, with a range of ($101,321-$123,785). This is for the 2025-26 school year.
The District provides its employees with a comprehensive benefits program including medical, life, and dental insurance. The District provides three medical plans for which it pays the full premium for employees, and a fourth option is a buy-up plan for which the district pays the majority of the premium. In addition, the District pays the full employee premium for dental insurance and life insurance. The District contributes to PERA on each employee's behalf and offers additional retirement savings options as well as optional supplemental insurance. Employees also receive paid time off. Worker's compensation and unemployment insurance are provided in accordance with State law.
Position Purpose
The responsibilities of this position are to provide educational and operational leadership at the building level; to plan, organize and evaluate staff and programs and services within building; and to promote communication with students, parents, staff and the community for educational effectiveness. The principal will work under the general supervision of the Assistant Superintendent to create the best possible opportunities for student academic growth and Social-emotional development.
Title I School Principals are focused on results and have proven success in increasing student achievement and adult performance by influencing and motivating others to reach their potential. They are solution-oriented and creative problem solvers with experience in data analysis and creating and managing systems. They set high expectations and communicate them to a variety of stakeholders. Furthermore, they understand, communicate and effectively interact with people across cultures.

Essential Functions
- Provides leadership and direction to staff with regard to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of educational programs, including curricular and extracurricular activities.
- Promotes a school environment that is safe and conducive to individualized instruction, cooperative curriculum development, and student learning.
- Implements and enforces state and district curriculum, policies and procedures, taking into consideration individual differences among students; serves on a variety of district-wide committees; coordinates special projects as requested.
- Ensures that Board policies and procedures are implemented and followed at the school.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
- Encourages staff to continue to grow professionally and to experiment with new approaches or strategies to teaching.
- Oversees the organization and maintenance of a system for accurate and complete record-keeping and reporting for all student activities, attendance and records as required by law.
- Coordinates the work of school staff and school district program leaders to develop and implement instructional programs and teaching practices.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and works with teaching staff to modify instructional methods to fit students' needs, including students with special needs.
- Coordinates with the central office in recruitment and selection of employees, the proper maintenance of employee personnel files, corrective action, and other human resource issues.
- Organizes and conducts regular meetings with teachers for continuing development of instructional techniques.
- Involves staff in the evaluation of programs and the planning of new programs.
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies.
- Supervises and evaluates teaching staff and other building employees in accordance with the school district's evaluation plan, and makes recommendations regarding goals, areas needing improvement and continued employment.
- Organizes and manages the budgetary and financial affairs of the school consistent with school district policies.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.

Certification/License:
- Current Colorado Principal's License required.
- Teaching Certification in related area (i.e., elementary school or subject area and grade level) preferred.
- Bilingual candidates will receive preference.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in School Administration. Master's Degree preferred.
- Extensive successful teaching experience at the elementary school level, and preferably in more than one subject area or grade level.
- Successful administrative experience at the elementary school level preferred.
