Location: TCHS Brandywine Campus at 443 Boot Road in Downingtown, PA

Anticipated start date: Conclusion of interview process
Schedule: 5 days per week, 7.5 hours per day. 194 days per year for new professional employees/191 days for professional staff in year two/190 days in all subsequent years
Exempt Status: Exempt
Salaried or Hourly: Salaried

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors level degree in education required
  • Valid PA Special Education Certificate (7-12 or N-12) required
  • Experience with secondary students preferred
  • Three to five years teaching experience preferred
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with severe and complex behavior challenges in school, community, or residential setting preferred
  • Current police, child abuse & FBI fingerprint clearances required (conducted by the CCIU upon hire)

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Instruct individuals and groups in special education skill and subject area
  • Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods
  • Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior
  • Support objectives and interventions of the educational program
  • Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom
  • Maintain contact with parents of students and/or professionals concerning student progress
  • When appropriate, develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students
  • Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required
  • Function as integral member of treatment/IEP team, addressing needs of students

Salary 2024-2025 School Year:
  • $56,355 to $87,396 - Instructional I Certification
  • $58,814 to $90,897 - Instructional II Certification
  • $62,567 to $99,261 - Master's Degree
  • $65,284 to $103,169- Master's +15
  • $66,706 to $105,039 - Masters + 30
*Placement on the salary scale is determined by previous experience. Salary is pro-rated for days worked in the school year.
