GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK
Responsible for the overall co-curricular program at the school, including but not limited to athletic and non-athletic activities. Provides resources to the organizations and coordinates their activities to ensure that a well-rounded program is offered to the student body.
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, and handling, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in an acceptable field. Experience as a coach and/or advisor preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Most hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with appropriate endorsement. Possession of a valid Virginia Driver's License. CDL license preferred.

- Compiles data from a wide variety of sources (e.g. staff, public agencies, etc.) for the purpose of analyzing issues, ensuring compliance with various policies and procedures, and/or monitoring program components.
- Supervise and advise coaches and sponsors. Conduct coaches' and sponsors' meetings to explain local and state rules and regulations.
- Coordinate all administrative matters of the athletic and activities program: budget, equipment, transportation, and all scheduling of events. This includes registering participants, collecting fees, providing for insurance coverage, providing basic equipment, planning schedules, and giving adequate publicity.
- Maintain an active program that promotes sportsmanship and welcome the competing teams and guests.
- Prepare and certify all interscholastic eligibility and develop master eligibility list for the Virginia High School League.
- In cooperation with coaches and staff members, prepare and administer the athletic budget and countersign all requests for the purchase of athletic equipment and supplies.
- Ensure implementation of an efficient system for equipment acquisition, destruction, repair, custody and inventory.
- Staff and manage the operation of all home activities and events. Staffing includes: support personnel, security, game officials and custodial support.
- Respond to issues involving coaches, officials, part-time workers, event security personnel conflicts, student athletes (e.g. policies and regulations, community concerns, parental requests, media requests, etc.) for the purpose of clarifying issues and implementing action that will address needs.
- Establish and maintain crowd control procedures for all events to ensure proper enjoyment and safety of all spectators and participants.
- Review crowd control assignments with all supervisors, including police officers.
- Attend all related district, regional and state meetings.
- Administer/implement high school graduation planning.
- Submit paperwork for athletic and non-athletic events including: game schedules, field trips, payment of support personnel, police, and officials, gate receipts, ticket inventory and control sheets, interscholastic inventory, and budgets.
- Supervise and advise students on information submissions to the NCAA Clearinghouse.
- Secure transportation for all school activities and prepare necessary paperwork.
- Responsible for conducting annual coaching and sponsor performance assessments and make recommendations to the principal for the hiring of new coaches and sponsors.
- Coordinate ground services for field preparations.
- Administer/implement preseason interscholastic meetings with athletes and parents.
- Schedule and maintain athletic physical documents/records/student insurance.
- Order and maintain a master inventory for uniforms, medical supplies, and equipment for all interscholastic activities and update it yearly.
- Serve as a director for district, region and state interscholastic activities and championships.
- Maintain correspondence with students, faculty/staff, parents and community.
- Organize and implement recognition programs and assemblies for the student body and faculty/staff.
- Maintain records and files for all clubs and organizations sanctioned by the school; conduct reviews and evaluations on a periodic basis.
- Supervise election/selection process for student government and grade level officers.
- Organize and evaluate student leadership programs. Supervise the eligibility of students for elected office.
- Serve as a liaison with the local media for athletic/non-athletic activities.
- Provide in-service training for activity advisers and sponsors. Orient new teachers to the student activities program.
- Serve as a liaison for the Parent and Booster groups.
- Coordinate logistical aspects of planned events by school administration.
- Maintain master event calendar for school and community use.
- Coordinate student events including but not limited to: dances, fundraisers, concessions, yearbook ordering and distribution, pictures, etc.
- Assist in organizing and distributing pictures for classes, clubs, athletics, music, faculty and teacher of the year.
- Secure permits for the use of practice and game facilities when outside facilities are used.
- Coordinate the use of school bulletin boards and showcases and publish or announce athletic events to inform the student body of coming events.
- Meet with various product vendors for fundraising opportunities or athletic equipment needs.
- Attend all athletic and activity events from start to completion including set up and clean up; for example, school plays, musicals and talent shows, etc.
- Arranges special events such as award presentations, rallies, and programs by outside groups interested in promoting athletic or student activities.

- Schedules use of rooms and facilities for student and community activities and provides for adequate supervision of activities and protection of property and equipment.
- Coordinates use of student participation in authorized community projects. Serves as a liaison between community organizations and the school.

- Review all athletic schedules and submit recommendations to the principal.
- Supervise requests for all club projects and fundraisers.
- Monitor study halls for athletic teams.
