TheUniversity of Illinois College of Dentistry (UIC COD) invites applications fora full-time faculty to serve as Director of Group Facilitation. The position isOpen Rank either in Tenure or Non-Tenure Track in the Department of OralMedicine and Diagnostic Sciences.
TheCollege of Dentistry is the largest oral health college in the State ofIllinois, provides care for 35,000 patients a year, and has over 500 studentsseeking dental degrees including DMD, PhD and Master's programs. Theselected individual will be an experienced academic leader in Small GroupLearning (SGL) or related pedagogies who will develop, implement and sustainSGL activities in the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) curriculum. Additionally,the individual will have primary responsibilities in providing input andguidance related to the formation of case scenarios used in SGL activities. TheDirector will lead case-writing, as well as improve, administer, and advanceSGL sessions throughout the predoctoral and advanced standing dental degreeprogram. In addition, the Director will participate as SGL facilitator andgrader.
Minimumqualifications include a clinical healthcare degree (DDS/DMD) or its foreignequivalent or a PhD in a related field. Three years of experience inproblem-based learning or related pedagogical methods in health professionseducation. Proven record of administrative responsibility. Experience inevidenced-based dentistry, curriculum development and interprofessionaleducation are highly preferred.
