Senior Kafka Engineer /Support
Plano, TX - Hybrid
Overall Exp should be 10+
1 Hands-on production experience and a deep understanding of the Kafka architecture and internals of how it works, along with the interplay of architectural components: brokers, Zookeeper, producers/consumers, Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams.
2 Strong knowledge of the Kafka Connect framework, with experience using several connector types: HTTP REST proxy, JMS, File, SFTP, JDBC, Splunk, Salesforce, and how to support wire-format translations. Knowledge of connectors available from Confluent and the community
3 Involved in application analysis, design, development, verification and validation, per industry guidelines and best practices.
4 Design and implement changes to existing software architecture, build highly sophisticated enhancements and optimize working code.
5 JMX metric capturing and Prometheus monitoring in kafka.
6 RBAC setup Kafka cluster.
7 Assimilate disparate information (log files, error messages, etc.) and pursue leads to perform root cause analysis.
8 Good knowledge of common web protocols, networking, and systems.
9 Implement Kafka and Kafka Streams API using Java.
10 Responsible for full software lifecycle, design and development of micro services and Kafka solutions.
11 Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers
12 Performing high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption recovery and creating preventive measures.
