Pella Carolina, Inc is looking for a Collections Manager to join our team at our beautiful new office. The Collections Manager will be responsible for a small team of well experienced team members. The Collections Manager is responsible for collection of AR, the management of overall credit exposure, and management of communication with outside legal counsel, as well as timely management of all AR aging components. The role will also maintain and improve sustained cash flow through diligent and aggressive monitoring of our customer accounts. This role will direct initiatives to improve working capital, including account monitoring, aligning AR DSO, and ensuring effective and efficient processing of AR collections. This position is highly visible and requires a strong leader with the ability to prioritize, plan, and firmly direct the department. Reports to the Director of Finance.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities include the following:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Collections department; create, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and controls
- Set objectives for the Collections team that align with the accounting department goals
- Training and mentoring of staff members in the department
Credit
- Conduct credit checks on new and potential customers
- Manage outstanding credit and overall exposure
- Develop reporting for visibility for the Leadership team
- Proactively communicate with sales team
Collections
- Negotiating with customers in cases when non-payment occurs
- Monitor collections efforts of staff members in the department
- Develop and oversee robust reporting for accounts receivable
- Monitor aging balances and recommend write-offs
- Remain informed of any legislative procedural training regarding debt collection
Legal
- Manage all communication with outside legal counsel
- Oversee and manage all small claim court cases
- Cost analysis on all accounts within legal with recommendations included
Accounts Receivable Ledger
- Monitor processing of all debit and credit memos
- Oversee monthly statements and finance fees
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related fields. MBA a plus, but not necessary
- Minimum 5+ years working experience in an accounting, billing or accounts receivable department
- Minimum of 3+ years of management of direct reports and or indirect leadership experience coaching and motivating in a professional environment.
- Excellent Communication skills: written, verbal and good listening
- Advanced skills with Excel- Pivot tables, V-lookups, etc. SQL experience is a plus.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a tenacity to problem-solving is important to the success in this role.
- Ability to perform accurate work in a timely manner following established policies.
- Ability to multi-task in a changing environment where priorities vary at times
- Microsoft suit (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point)
- Experience with Accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite or Sage. Great Plains experience is a plus.
- Must be adept at providing excellent service while managing challenging customer scenarios.
