As a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer working with the LotusWorks team, you will join our client site in the Battery Plant Manufacturing sector. This job is based in a state-of-the-art global facility in DeSoto, Kansas.
The Mechanical Commissioning Engineer will be accountable for the commissioning of the following systems: HVAC, chilled water distribution piping and pumps, cooling tower water distribution, make up air handling equipment, etc.

As a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer working with the LotusWorks team, you will join our client site in the Battery Plant Manufacturing sector. This job is based in a state-of-the-art global facility in DeSoto, Kansas.
The Mechanical Commissioning Engineer will be accountable for the commissioning of the following systems: HVAC, chilled water distribution piping and pumps, cooling tower water distribution, make up air handling equipment, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Participate and support where required throughout all commissioning levels 1-5 of the projected scope of work.
- Support complete commissioning and performance acceptance testing of the mechanical infrastructure systems.
- Responsible for all personal aspects of safety compliance and generally for the mechanical team and sitewide.
- Assist with vendor coordination and management.
- Support and perform design specification review, manufacturer submittals, one line drawing sets, and project schedule documentation.
- Provide test documentation that equipment is delivered, installed, and tested correctly and set to function properly for the customer.
- Participate in Functional performance testing (FPT) of client systems.
- Confirm equipment and system operation to design specification.
- Responsible for ensuring installation complies with local codes and national standards.
- Non-Conformance Recording: Record instances of non-conformance and punch list items, providing detailed documentation and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to address and resolve issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the commissioning process.
- Conduct facility walk downs, turnover, and punch list reviews.
- General understanding of LEED specifications and requirements.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience commissioning mechanical systems in mission critical environments.
- Good knowledge of Commissioning process levels 1-5.
- Knowledge of various Building Automation/Monitoring Systems (BAS/BMS), Boilers, Chillers, Air Handlers, Humidifiers, Variable Refrigerant Flow, HVAC, Computer Room Air Conditioners/Handlers (CRAC/CRAH), Evaporators, Dehumidification skids, Pressure/Temperature/Humidity sensors & Flowmeters. Understanding of Area Layout.
- Able to communicate verbally, electronically and written to convey information in an effective manner. Technically skilled to act as the interface between disciplines, engineers and contractors.
- Need to understand equipment and system P&IDs, specifications and drawings and be able to identify field discrepancies for resolution.
- Knowledge of mechanical trend analysis
- Understanding the sequence of construction and commissioning activities.
- Strong knowledge is required in the following areas: local and national codes; construction drawings/symbols; acceptable industry standard/practices.
- Strong experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
