Job Description & Skill Requirement
Development of new product from the manufacturing engineering perspective
Driving design for manufacture throughout the development process
Developing cutting edge manufacturing processes
Identifying equipment and executing capital plans to meet new program
Communicating program status to various levels of the company
Applying fundamental knowledge of Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials engineering
Developing, evaluating, improving and documenting manufacturing processes that improve manufacturability and eliminate process inefficiencies.
Collaborating with configuration control and design engineering regarding product tooling and design to ensure effectual production methods.
Conferring with vendors in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, parts, or material purchase, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications.
Working closely with production to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
Designing and developing manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost.
Trouble shooting and resolving technical problems.
Proactively eliminate EHS hazards and ensure that work areas are safe at all times.
Leads Kaizen teams
Understanding of lean principles and systems thinking is needed to effectively lead the projects and process improvement initiatives.
