Responsibilities:
  • API Architecture and Implementation: Designing and implementing the overall API architecture, including integration with various systems and deployment strategies.
  • API Security and Access Control: Implementing security measures such as SAML, Web SSO, SSL/TLS to ensure secure communication and access control.
  • Health Checks & Monitoring: Utilizing various tools for monitoring the health of Apigee components and APIs, and implementing health checks to ensure reliability.
  • Configuration Management: Managing configurations of Apigee components and utilizing configuration management systems for efficient deployment and maintenance.
  • Cloud Architecture and Security: Understanding cloud architectures and implementing security measures for Apigee in cloud environments.
  • High Availability and Failover: Configuring high availability, load balancing, and failover mechanisms to ensure continuous availability of Apigee services.
  • Support and Maintenance: Providing support for Apigee environments, including troubleshooting, upgrades, and preventative maintenance.
  • API Best Practices and Performance Tuning: Implementing best practices for API design and performance tuning to optimize API performance.
  • Deployment and Decommissioning: Handling deployment and decommissioning of Apigee environments, including setup and configuration of new instances.
  • Networking and Firewall Configuration: Configuring networking, firewall rules, and load balancers for communication between Apigee, business partners, and backend systems.
  • Collaboration with Teams: Working collaboratively with infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, governance, and testing teams to address dependencies and resolve issues.
  • Scripting and Automation: Utilizing scripting (e.g., Shell scripting) for automation of tasks and performance testing/debugging.
  • Development Knowledge: Having development knowledge with Apigee can be advantageous for understanding and customizing API implementations.
  • Support and Incident Management: Providing L2/L3 support for Apigee platforms, managing production incidents, service requests, and changes to ensure SLAs are met.
  • Solution Provisioning: Assisting consumers and stakeholders by providing solutions for issues reported on the platform.

  • This role requires a diverse skill set encompassing API management, cloud technologies, security, networking, scripting, and collaboration with various teams. It's crucial to have experience in managing complex API environments and ensuring high availability and security.
