Business Intelligence Developer

Job Description

Position Summary:

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer will transform organizational data into insights that drive organizational decisions, strategies and objectives. This position will design, develop, deploy and maintain BI interfaces including data visualization tools, data analytics and reporting software.

Essential Functions:

• Plans, creates and implements BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses.
• Develops dashboards, reports and visualizations to present complex data in an understandable and functional format. Assists stakeholders in identifying important trends and insights.
• Creates and manages data models to ensure data is accurate, relevant and structured to support data analysis.
• Oversees data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) from various sources into a usable form for business analysis.
• Manages databases and ensures their performance, reliability and security. Ensures accuracy, completeness and reliability of the data used for analysis. Implements data governance policies and practices.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions. Gathers requirements, provides advice on how data can be utilized, and ensures BI solutions meet those needs.
• Provides support and training to users on BI tools and data analytics.
• Performs regular maintenance and updates to existing BI solutions to enhance functionality and incorporate new data sources or analytics capabilities.

• Stays current on the latest trends and technologies in BI, data analytics and data visualization to improve BI capabilities and recommend technology upgrades and enhancements.
• Excellent communication and customer services skills to interact with team members and stakeholders. Able to translate technical information into non-technical terms.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven design and programming abilities in the areas of data warehouses, SQL, data modeling and scripting.
• Must have skill in coding languages and database structures.

Qualifications:

• Must have bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Must have at least 2-4 years of related experience in data warehouse modeling or BI data management.
• Knowledge of BI tools and data warehouses such as Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Tableau, etc. required.
• Experience with ETL tools and processes required.
• Experience with development languages and frameworks such as SQL, Python, HTML, Java and JavaScript required.
• Powershell experience preferred.
