GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Immunization Unit works with healthcare providers and other immunization partners to ensure the protection of Wyoming's communities against vaccine-preventable diseases. Join our team and fulfill your passion for serving others, preventing disease, and improving the public's health.
The Public Vaccine Program Manager position is an integral part of the Wyoming Immunization Unit. This position oversees and manages the operations of the Public Vaccine Programs and ensures compliance with state and federal public vaccine requirements.

- Management of the operations and funding for the state and federal vaccine programs.
- Track and report progress and issues related to achieving federal grant objectives.
- Develop population and eligibility estimates to ensure that the state of Wyoming is apportioned the correct share of federal vaccine funds to decrease the incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases among Wyoming residents.
- Prepare, maintain, and submit as needed the annual Vaccine Spend Plan and update the Vaccine Spend Plan monthly.
- Review, draft, and enforce plans, policies, rules, and procedures of the Public Vaccine Program, with continual assessment of their impact, benefit, and need for amendments based on performance.
- Oversee and manage the training and compliance verification for providers enrolled in public vaccine programs.
- Administer vaccine ordering and distribution processes.
- Administer and adjust federal and state spending plans according to vaccine needs and trends, ensuring adherence to budget guidelines.
- Manage vaccine processes, financing, distribution, and replenishment.
- Ensure adherence to CDC guidelines for vaccine ordering, distribution, storage and handling, and inventory.
- Monitor provider vaccine inventory levels.
- Supervise, train, hire, coach, perform annual performance management, and administer discipline as appropriate for two or more direct reports.
- Prepare for and support the response to pandemics and outbreaks.
- Work with Immunization Information System staff to identify and resolve system issues, and identify areas of enhancement.
- Provide customer service including regular communication with providers and other immunization stakeholders.
- Identify and partner with key stakeholders.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of principles and practices of immunizations and public health.
- Skills in personnel management, coaching, supervision, and leadership.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws.
- Knowledge of budgetary procedures and management of state and federal budgets.
