ACADEMIC LEADER OF STEM GRADUATE PROGRAMS
The Academic Leader will oversee the development and enhancement of graduate programs related to STEM at Sagrado as part of the federally funded initiative, Sagrado's Graduate PATH (Promoting Advancement Through Higher Studies in Puerto Rico). This role encompasses curricular development, course programming and design in the LMS, faculty recruitment and evaluation, learning assessment, and ongoing curriculum enhancement and educational experiences. Additionally, the Leader will contribute to establishing the Graduate Center for Collaborative Research. This role will be pivotal in fostering a culture of research at the graduate level, encouraging innovation and scholarly engagement among students and faculty.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to cultivate and manage networks with a diverse range of stakeholders, considering the various applications of STEM-related degrees. The position reports directly to the Dean of the School of Health and Science, who is also the Project Director of Sagrado's Graduate PATH. The Academic Leader must commit to professional practice and outreach within the discipline.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- PhD (Neuroscience, Chemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences) or related degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Experience in higher education is desirable.
- Experience (3+ years) in academic roles (teaching or research).
- Peer-reviewed publications are desirable.
- Experience (3+ years) of professional experience in the discipline.
- Experience (3+ years) in leadership experience at the discipline.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Superior project management and time management skills are necessary.
- Proficiency in digital and technology tools, including digital platforms for teaching.
- Familiarity with data analytics software is preferred.
- Superior capacity to work with multidisciplinary teams.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
Academic leadership
- Lead the curricular design of new STEM-related graduate offerings.
- Implement the assessment plan, course programming, faculty recruiting and development, program marketing and promotion, infrastructure and technological needs identification, and sustainability strategies.
- Evaluates the design of courses in the "Learning Management System" (LMS) and leads course updates.
- Identify and execute best practices for adapting the curriculum to different learning modalities using up-to-date technological tools and pedagogical approaches.
- Lead and support the revision of the curriculum and the development of new courses.
- Identify and recruit faculty to lecture courses in the program.
- Lead faculty evaluation process for each term, including student and peer evaluations.
- Assess and report program results.
- Lecture courses in the program.
Co-curricular component to support students
- Establish and execute a plan to develop and strengthen collaboration networks with multiple stakeholders in the STEM field at the national and international levels.
- Design, in collaboration with the Dean and faculty, programming of academic events or experiences that will enrich students' curriculum vitae.
- Support students in their professional interests within their academic program.
- Able to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
- Support the Dean on the project management, development and establishment of the Graduate Center for Collaborative Research
Institutional support
- Develop and measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Assist in implementation, data collection and processing along with strategic partners across campus.
- Perform other duties as assigned by top management.
