Role OverviewThe Strategic Philanthropy Manager, Donor Advised Funds, will take our work to new levels with donor-advised funds, third-party aggregators, and wealth advisors, strengthening relationships, operations, and insights to accelerate revenue growth. This new role will report to the new Director, Strategic Philanthropy, and work closely on uncovering and developing opportunities to raise awareness of MSF's work among industry thought leaders and partners.

This role will execute the MSF strategy, expanding and maintaining B2B relationships while broadening the donor audience and deepening connections with current supporters giving through these vehicles. They may serve as the primary contact for a segment of these donors to drive the pipeline. They will also collaborate with our channel managers, agencies, and stakeholders to optimize donor journeys that inspire and inform donors, while building communications for industry partnerships. This role will support our presence at key industry events to increase visibility and engagement.

The Manager will also improve internal operations, working cross-functionally to optimize the end-to-end experience in the donor cycle. Their work will fuel our data capacity and ability to understand behavior and motivations. They will monitor landscape trends to serve as a subject matter expert.

This role is a crucial contributor to annual planning and budgeting.

Department Accountabilities

ProspectingPursuing strategic opportunities in coherence with MSF-USA's strategy, that creates long-term value for the movement by identifying and developing new audience segments or donors for its mission.

Donor Cultivation, Engagement and ManagementBuild trust and loyalty with potential and existing donors. At the simplest level, update donors on activities. At a more complex level, build long-term relationships with key donors and key donor segments. Take overall responsibility for designing, developing, and delivering the donor engagement strategy. May be through channels or through personal relationships.

FundraisingSecure reliable, sustainable, and efficient resources in alignment with MSF-US commitments.

Brand PositioningDrive awareness and consideration through brand positioning based on the brand strategy and implement brand plans

Best-in-Class Fundraising Systems and CapabilitiesDeploy and champion the latest technological systems and capabilities that push the boundaries of what Development can produce for its donors.

Marketing
Execute a marketing plan for a particular product, service or specialty area while working within established marketing systems.

MSF Representation
Represent the organization or institution in various industry, institutional, and/or professional forums, boards, and committees to promote the company or institution's brand or efforts. Focus on their own expertise.

Donor Relationship Management (Account Management)
Develop and implement relationship management plans for complex existing donor accounts to identify and build relationships with relevant decision makers and influencers within the donor organization, enable the effective flow of information, and resolve issues. Manage ongoing relationships with identified donor segments to meet their needs, providing themes, summary analysis, and recommendations for changes based on donor input.

Improvement and Innovation
Spot potential improvements in our existing business practices and bring forward innovative solutions. Develop and deliver these projects within the organization's change management program, working with guidance from senior colleagues.

Fundraising Events Development and Design
Manages the development and execution of fundraising events, including ideation, planning, and business case development. Fosters relationships with diverse content creators and fundraisers to align their interests with organizational goals and manages post-event reports and analysis to measure success.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
At a minimum, the Job Holder should possess:
Minimum 5 years of professional fundraising experience.
Deep knowledge of the donor-advised fund space and smart giving vehicles.
Experience launching new initiatives and developing new business practices.
Demonstrated success in managing projects in complex organizations that drive change.
Experience executing creative content for online and offline materials.
Strong analytical skills.
Proven success in managing exhibits and event presence.

Preferred
Prior experience in vendor and agency management.
Knowledge of fundraising databases such as Salesforce NPSP and experience optimizing reports and functionality to meet business needs.
Working knowledge of project management systems and productivity tools. Comfortable learning new software applications.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel for business as needed, including MSF events and industry meetings.

COMPENSATION
$88,822 to $133,233; New employees will be compensated from the minimum to midpoint based on experience
