USmax Corporation is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Manager to oversee corporate HR, day-to-day operations, and institute best practices including new hire on-boarding and employment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and training.
The HR Manager will be responsible for developing HR strategies and providing sound advice to the senior leadership team. The HR Manager should be an experienced professional with deep knowledge of all matters related to HR functions. The goal of this position is to ensure that all HR needs of USmax are being met and aligned with business objectives.

The HR Manager will be responsible for developing HR strategies and providing sound advice to the senior leadership team. The HR Manager should be an experienced professional with deep knowledge of all matters related to HR functions. The goal of this position is to ensure that all HR needs of USmax are being met and aligned with business objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partners with the senior leadership team to execute the company's resource and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to retention, succession planning, and professional development.
- Provides guidance to management relating to complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues.
- Handles disciplinary matters, investigations, and terminations.
- Prepares, maintains and tracks all federal, state and local compliance requirements.
- Reports and recommends best practices and policy updates as required.
- Provides ongoing leadership and support of recruiting activities.
- Manages leaves of absence, FMLA, disability, and worker's compensation claims.
- Orients and onboards staff.
- Responsible for benefits administration, including partnering with outside vendors.
- Responsible for researching/recommending/delivering training and professional development programs.
- Responsible for comprehensive HR function recordkeeping in as well as operation of company's HRIS.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management and employment law.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, writing, and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of on-boarding, retention, and off-boarding procedures.
- Experience with developing and maintaining employee handbook.
- Awareness of hiring and reporting regulations applicable to federal contractors and experience with OFCCP requirements, Affirmative Action Plans, EEO-1, and Vets 4212 filings.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in HR management and recruitment, preferably in the federal contracting area.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience managing an HRIS, ADP Workforce Now preferred.
- Compliance for multi-state employee population preferred.
- Global HR management experience preferred.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; an additional four (4) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- HR certifications (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) and SHRM membership desired.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- None, but U.S. Citizenship is required for facility access.
Work Location / Schedule:
- Fairfax, VA; hybrid schedule with two days per week onsite.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional local travel.
