In anticipation of the growth, we have a created a new role, Assistant Corporate Controller, to support the corporate accounting function at our headquarters in Madison Heights, Michigan. The responsibilities of the Assistant Corporate Controller include the following:

Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead corporate consolidation for month-end and year-end close process
  • Prepare financial statements and reporting package including analysis of balance sheet, income statements, and cash flows
  • Responsible for direct supervision of 2 senior accountants
  • Responsible for accounting policy & procedure updates and serve as a key resource for technical accounting questions/issues (revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, etc.)
  • Owns debt reporting including calculation of covenant ratios and quarterly submissions
  • Responsible for (13-week) cash flow forecast and respective working capital targets
  • Calculate and post journal entries in connection with month-end process
  • Maintain general ledger and related chart of accounts
  • Work cross-functionally with (IT, Purchasing, Sales etc.) to implement system enhancements and to improve processes and create efficiencies
  • Serve as main point of contact with external auditors providing documentation and schedules for year-end audit and interim reviews.
  • Perform other special projects related to acquisitions and subsequent integration
  • Support ERP launch in SAP and identify opportunities to improve reporting and financial close processes
  • Ad Hoc reporting for Controller and Chief Financial Officer


Qualifications And Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA Designation
  • 10+ years of experience at preferably with mix of public accounting and manufacturing experience in the CPG industry
  • Proficient user of Microsoft office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel);
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Prior experience with M&A and ERP integration strongly preferred
