Wellstar Health System is seeking a Trauma Surgery Service Line System Chief to join our multi-trauma center system in metro Atlanta, Georgia. The System Chief will serve as the physician leader of the Wellstar Health system Trauma Service Line and report to the Chief Surgical Offer of the system. Duties will include developing and managing the implementation of Trauma service line strategic plans, leading the development of the trauma care systems at the community, state and national levels, oversight of and participation in all clinical activities within the service line, proactively monitoring quality and aid in level 3 and 4 centers and PI project creation, recommend goals and objectives of the service line to executives and serve as a member of and chair the Trauma Steering committee. Must also work clinical as a .5 FTE at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, a level 1 trauma center in Marietta, GA, approximately 45 minutes north of Atlanta. Kennestone has 633 beds and is the busiest ED in the state. Clinical duties include trauma, acute care surgery, surgical critical care as well as GME involvement. The Kennestone trauma surgery team is comprised of 9 physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
Candidates must be board certified and fellowship trained trauma, surgical critical care surgeons. Must have ten years' experience as a practicing physician in a system healthcare setting and at least two years' experience as a Trauma Medical Director.
Candidates must have working knowledge and experience in managing clinical operations, resource utilization and management, quality performance and improvement, medical informatics, financial planning, budgeting and developing new programs and clinical service lines as well as demonstrated leadership skills and knowledge.
Must also portray excellent physician relation skills and people management skills.
