Introduction
The Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Office currently has an opening for a Technical College System Administrator (Associate Vice President of IT)! We're a highly engaged, collaborative team of about 50 employees with an office located at the new Hill Farms State Office Building on Madison's near west side. The WTCS Office is the administrative service agency of the WTCS Board, which is the coordinating and oversight body for Wisconsin's 16 public, two-year technical colleges. This position offers the ability to work remotely nearly 100% of the time, however, the employee should be available to report to the office sporadically as needed.

Position Summary
This position will provide leadership to the Office of Information Technology. The employee will oversee and manage the development, implementation, support, and use of all technology within WTCS. This position will plan and direct the work of employees who develop, maintain and support IT Systems including network, workstations, web presence, virtual server infrastructure, and complex system-wide data reporting systems. In this role, the employee will evaluate the agency needs and provide vision for new IT initiatives and also provide leadership and guidance in the interpretation and development of WTCS policies, federal laws and regulations. In addition, the employee will act as the technical authority on all technology at the WTCS.

Salary Information
The classification of this position is Technical College System Administrator which is in pay schedule/range 81-01. The starting pay for this position will be between $53.00 - $58.00 per hour ($110,240 - $120,640 annually) based on qualifications. This position is not represented by a collective bargaining unit. A 24-month Career Executive trial period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan effective at time of hire.

Qualifications
Minimally qualified candidates will have each of the following:
- Experience serving in a formal or informal leadership role (lead worker, project manager, supervisor, etc.) in an IT field or setting
- Experience leading customer/stakeholder engagement (discussions with internal/external stakeholders, negotiating project priorities, etc.)
- Experience with developing AND implementing IT processes
- Experience in information technology planning with network infrastructure, software applications implementation/upgrades, hardware deployment, printers, security, and/or technical support, etc.
- Experience managing communications with vendor staff (providing guidance and oversight)
- Experience managing IT service desk tools (ticketing systems, remote desktop support tools, knowledge management systems, etc.)
