Options Community Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering social services across the Southern Fraser region (Surrey, Delta, White Rock and Langley) from early childhood to seniors. Position Overview
We are looking for a dynamic leader with proven experience in counselling and crisis intervention services. Your expertise in program development, staff supervision, and adherence to best practices will be essential in maintaining the excellence and effectiveness of our programs.
Reporting to the Executive Director, our selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of comprehensive services including Family Counselling, Sexual Abuse Counselling, and Suicide Prevention Education and Counselling Program. Your role will ensure strict adherence to legislation, regulations, contractual commitments, and society policies. Collaborating closely with the leadership team, you will contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and resource allocation. Additionally, you will supervise and support counselling and crisis line staff, fostering their professional growth and ensuring adherence to best practices. Effective management of budgetary and financial resources will be essential, alongside monitoring program outcomes and actively participating in evaluation and improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will lead or participate in the development of funding proposals and grants, ensuring robust data collection, adherence to evidence-based practices, and compliance with accreditation standards. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, contribute to leadership initiatives within OCS, and prepare comprehensive reports for the Executive Director, E-Team, CEO, funders (such as MCFD and PHSA), and other stakeholders as required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should hold a Master's degree in social services or equivalent, with a strong background in the Community Social Services Sector and Ministry of Children and Family Development. They must have at least five (5) years of leadership experience, including work with individuals with developmental disabilities. A valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle are required, with proficiency in a second language considered beneficial.
They should demonstrate expertise in counselling techniques, ethical supervision, and services for diverse populations including women, families, youth, and Indigenous communities. Strong advocacy skills, effective communication abilities, and proficiency in crisis management and program innovation are essential, along with demonstrated capabilities in human resources and financial management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, OCS databases, and other relevant software is expected.
This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
