Job Summary
The Automation Specialist manages troubleshooting/support for electrical issues on production lines as well as facility equipment and infrastructure across the campus. This person will conduct routine and advanced PLC program modifications through project upgrades and maintenance trouble-shooting activities. They will also develop new control systems for automation projects.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Must understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times to ensure a safe work environment
  • Lead trouble-shooting for equipment PLC programs to minimize downtime
  • Create new PLC programs where necessary
  • Design and implement control systems using sensors, motion control and feedback loops
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as required


Education and Experience Profile
  • 4 year degree in Electrical Technology or Control Systems is preferred
  • At least 4-6 years relevant electrical technician experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods and Lean Manufacturing


Required Skills
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Capable to interpret and apply NEC, NFPA, and OSHA codes.
  • Familiar with 3 phase electrical power applications.
  • Experience with RS500, RS5000, Studio5000 and View Studio
  • Experience with servo motors and controls
  • Demonstrated ability with PLC trouble shooting, interface, and programming skills.
  • Ability to be a team player
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organization skills.
  • Must be results oriented with strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and provide guidance to others
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and prints

Work Environment
80% Manufacturing/Warehouse and 20% Office Environment
