BB&E is a full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.

Position Summary

BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Engineer to join our team, providing technical support and facilities planning in support of the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) Customer Funded Design & Construction Branch (CFSD), located at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA)-Lackland, TX.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support
• Conduct design reviews and make recommendations as to corrective action or approval
• Perform technical reviews of RFIs (potential changes, differing site conditions, etc.).
• Provide technical reviews of A&E and construction submittals
• Provide expert analysis and advice to Government Project Managers and stakeholders regarding A&E and construction Contractor deliverables to ensure compliance with DoD and industry standards, to include recommendation for approval or disapproval by the Government (e.g. designs, work plans, work classification, schedules, cost estimates, Contractor's approach/methods, Contractor proposals, to include effectiveness and efficiency of technical approach, and analysis of proposed work/activity productivity) in their respective discipline/area of expertise
• May be required to develop and present technical presentations, visual media, and/or training related to mission areas

Key Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a NACI/CAC is required
• Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Software: Proficiency using MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Self-Starter: Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously

Experience & Education

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience performing engineering duties related to design and/or construction

• Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree from an accredited university in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or Chemical Engineering is required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand/walk/climb/kneel/crouch and remain in a stationary position/sit at least 60% of the time
• Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
• Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away
• Ability to understand the speech of another person, speak clearly so listeners can understand, and talk or hear both in person and by telephone
