Business Overview:

The Marketing & Communications team oversees the communication strategy of BNP Paribas in Canada, in collaboration with the regional and the Group communications teams. This team is focused on Events & Sponsorship, Media Relations, Social Media, Website Content, Philanthropic Initiatives (incl volunteering), Advertising, Client Creative Services, Internal Communications and Video Services.

The Head of Marketing & Communications is responsible for delivering the Marketing & Communications Canada strategy (specific areas of focus listed above).

In detail
Deliver the full Marketing and Communications strategy for BNP Paribas in Canada
Promote and protect the BNP Paribas brand.
Set annual events strategy focus with key deliverables across external client and internal (employee focused) engagements.
Drive the overall philanthropic and volunteering strategy across our key pillars of focus and that is aligned with BNP Paribas Group's 1MillionHours2Help program as well as our client objectives.
Drive the internal communication strategy in support of overall employee engagement, understanding of BNP Paribas Canada strategy and transversal initiatives.Execute via a variety of delivery methods for content dissemination (all employee townhalls, video content, informal senior management interactions with staff, newsletter, digital and social media support).
Create a marketing approach for BNP Paribas presence in Canada, with a particular focus on BNP Paribas as an employer of choice.
Foster the advancement of Social Media content both at a corporate "owned" level and at a spokesperson "earnt" level.
In conjunction with NY Media Relations team, engage with external media partners as appropriate and manage crisis-communications situations as required.
Optimize / Improve current ways of working / team structure.Provide personal development guidance to all team members supported by necessary training opportunities.
Work on the transformation of processes and digitalization of the team.
In collaboration with NY team, drive the department budget and finance process.
Liaise with counterparts in the region and at group level to ensure development of synergies across domains of activity and compliance with global initiatives.
Leverage and promote the use internal digital channels to improve employee information, engagement and understanding.
Work with the business lines and function to develop select pieces of content (including video) that show case BNP Paribas in Canada's value proposition.
Develop, create, understand, implement and monitor appropriate policies and procedures.
Work on ad hoc projects as needed.
Ensure regular presence in Toronto, in support of broader staff engagement and external partner contacts.

The strengths and skills that will help you succeed
Bachelor's degree
10+ years of experience across banking and marketing and communications
Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Fluency in both English and French is required.
Banking industry knowledge & understanding preferable
Solid management skills with the ability to inspire, encourage and ensure execution of key deliverables
Strong interpersonal skills including ability to negotiate and influence others both internally and externally.
Innovative and creative thinker with strong ethics, integrity and drive.
Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a challenging environment. Able to anticipate the impact of various situations.
Proven experience of change management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Effective teamwork and collaborative skills.
Excellent marketing skills: market awareness, user experience and excellent written / oral communication skills.
Knowledge of the group's goals and strategy as well as of BNP Paribas' strategy in Canada and the Americas.
Direct contribution to BNPP operational permanent control framework.
