Position Description:

The Specialty Food Sales Manager will play a crucial role in driving sales and expanding our market share within the specialty food industry. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing effective sales strategies, building strong relationships with customers and coordinating with the marketing team to develop effective sales communication tools to enhance our sales efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for specialty foods and have a proven track record in sales and relationship management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Relationship Management:
Build and maintain long-term relationships with wholesale food customers through regular email and phone outreach.
Ensure customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service via in-person visits, email, phone, and social media.
Utilize HubSpot CRM to engage with customers on a regular basis.

Lead Generation and Sales:
Actively prospect new customers through various channels (email, phone, in-person).
Schedule account visits on a regular basis for new customer acquisition.
Maintain a robust pipeline of leads and meeting new account conversion targets.
Upsell current customers on new and seasonal products.

Order Management:
Oversee the wholesale order process through QuickBooks, coordinating with the shipping department for timely deliveries.
Oversee Sales Assistant to process and track all orders and samples.

Client Onboarding:
Manage the onboarding process for new customers, ensuring all necessary information is recorded and deliveries are successful.
Liaise between customers and internal teams to streamline processes.

Trade Show Representation:
Represent Clif Family at wholesale trade shows, showcasing our products and expanding our network.

Sales Strategy Development:
Create and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and enhance market penetration.
Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations to key decision-makers, ensuring alignment with client needs.

Reporting and Insights:
Prepare regular sales reports and insights for management, focusing on performance, market trends, and competitive activity.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
Identify opportunities for referrals to other sales channels within Clif Family, including Hospitality, DTC, Corporate Gifting and Membership.

Qualifications Required

The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
5+ years of experience in sales, preferably in the specialty food or beverage industry.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sales strategies.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and customer feedback.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders.
Experience in team management and training.
Passion for specialty food and wine.
Ability to travel for customer visits and industry events which may include evenings and weekends.
