BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.
Position Summary
BB&E is currently looking for a Project Geologist, Hydrogeologist, and Environmental Scientist to support industrial and federal environmental remediation projects and programs in our Norcross, GA office.

Position Summary
BB&E is currently looking for a Project Geologist, Hydrogeologist, and Environmental Scientist to support industrial and federal environmental remediation projects and programs in our Norcross, GA office.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform fieldwork that includes collecting soil, sediment, and groundwater samples
- Supervise the installation of soil borings, monitoring wells, and direct push technology (DPT) borings and direct contractors to perform the work as outlined in project work plans
- Interpret the analytical laboratory and geologic data and prepare reports documenting the work performed, results, and findings
- Perform assigned work in accordance with project schedules, plans, and budgets
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel 50% of the time to perform fieldwork
- Support the following: preparing scopes, plans, and instructions for project teams and contractors; planning and managing remediation and restoration projects; reviewing and managing project data for reporting
- Duties may also include reviewing contractor-generated technical documents, field oversight of contractor activities, tracking schedules and costs, records management of environmental program documents, and environmental project programming
Key Qualifications
- Experience overseeing the installation of borings, logging soil and rock core samples, monitoring wells, and collecting and documenting soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water samples is required
- Experience performing aquifer and remedial tests is required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Suite (Word, Excel, Projects, PowerPoint, Access) and Adobe is required
- Ability to successfully pass a federal agency background check is required
- Industrial remedial experience is a plus
- Familiarity with RCRA and CERCLA
- Experience collecting soil and water quality samples in accordance with standard USEPA field methods
- Experience with installation of wells in a variety of hydrogeologic settings, supporting slug and aquifer tests, and familiarity with basic technologies, including removal actions, air sparging, soil vapor extraction, and chemical injection
- Technical writing of plans, reports, and technical memorandums
- Prior experience in providing project oversight
- Motivated self-starters are requested
Experience & Education
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in science or applicable Engineering (Geology, Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Geological Engineering) or other related areas is required; advanced science or engineering degree preferred
- GIT/PG or EIT/PE is required
- Minimum 3 years related experience as environmental professional is required
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is required
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to pass drug testing
- Must be able to walk, sit, and/or stand for extended periods for multiple days/weeks
- Able to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.
- Capable of light lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Working conditions:
- Able to work both indoor/outdoor (with exposure to the elements)
- Able to walk/climb/knee/crouch and reach
- Able to work on rough terrain when necessary
- Able to work in confined spaces and/or heights
- Able to wear the required PPE, minimally use gloves, a hard hat, a respirator, and steel-toe boots that may be in combination with protective clothing/suits, a respirator, and/or a fall restraint/recovery harness
- Exposure to hazards/contaminants at times
