We are looking for a passionate Assistant Director of Clinical Services (RN) to join our leading team of hospice care professionals and make a difference, by listening, caring, and serving.

Position Summary:The Assistant Director of Clinical Services (ADCS) supports the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) in overseeing and guiding all aspects of hospice clinical operations. The ADCS plays a key role in setting, implementing, and evaluating goals and objectives that ensure hospice services meet high standards of care and align with the company's mission and values. Working under the direction of the DCS or Executive Director (ED), the ADCS is responsible for monitoring Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities and guiding clinical staff in adherence to hospice policies and procedures. The ADCS also collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary team, patient families, and referring agencies to ensure a coordinated, high-quality plan of care is consistently maintained. In the absence of the DCS or Patient Care Manager, the ADCS will assume and assist with their responsibilities to ensure continuity of care and operations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required; Master's Degree of Nursing preferred.
  • Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hospice or home health care, with at least 2 years in a clinical supervisory or management role. Experience with interdisciplinary teams, Quality Assurance, and Performance Improvement (QAPI) processes is highly preferred. Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
  • Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care (CHPN) or a willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe preferred.
  • Experience in performance evaluations, mentoring, and staff development.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex clinical situations and make sound decisions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of hospice care regulations, including Medicare Conditions of Participation, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Excellent observation, good nursing judgement and communication skills. Understands hospice philosophy and issues of death/dying.
  • Understands principles of pain/symptom management.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent educating/training skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and be flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Experience with Hospice and/or Home Health Electronic Medical Records / EMR Software is preferred.
