A successful candidate will have the following:

FH is seeking an experienced Major Gifts Officer professional. The qualified MGO will have 5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience with a track record of successfully securing individual and major gifts, and meeting revenue/fundraising goals and deadlines. Additionally, the top candidate will have a bachelor's degree, knowledge of evangelical doctrines and profiles, and the ability to travel up to 50-60% of the time annually.
A vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a Christian commitment to serving the poor, and in full agreement with FH's Christian beliefs.
Refined writing and speaking skills and use them to compel individuals to action.
Confidence and competence in high-level financial negotiations and a history of securing major gifts.
Negotiation, presentation, and execution skills.
Strong networking and relationship-building skills.

What you'll do...

As the MGO, you will:
Develop and implement a "moves management" strategy for each major donor in their caseload.
Track donor contact, which includes activities such as monitoring number of face-to-face visits, phone calls, emails, personalized correspondence, funding proposals presented, new donor inquiries, etc.
Prepare materials to secure gifts, such as proposals, illustrations, and informational materials.
Develop and implement strategies to cultivate relationships with investors. Communicate to potential and existing major donors about field programs and emergency relief needs, and encourage donors to contribute through cash donations, investment securities, real estate, endowments, trusts, or bequests.
Conduct personal visits with major donors.
Travel, as necessary, with staff and donors to relief and development sites around the world.
