Overview
The Project Contracts and Accounting Lead provides direction and oversight of project administration in the areas of project accounting, contract management, project management system administration, and external funding program management. S/He has a finance background with expertise in project accounting, and is responsible for the design of and adherence to accounting and contracts processes within the development and construction department. This role requires the ability to collaborate across multiple organizational departments, regarding all development and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of business workflows and IT system management-ensuring completeness and accuracy of all project information, as well as alignment to organizational policies.
Responsibilities
Project Accounting
Work with project managers and financial teams to ensure costs are hitting projects correctly and getting paid in accordance with applicable policies
Maintain accurate project financial information, preparing monthly financial reporting packages for review by Project Managers and division leadership
Review monthly project financial reports, trends, and forecasts, identifying corrective action plan requirements and coordinating with PMs
Assist with financial audit process for questions or information required of development and construction capital projects
Contract Management
Maintain project contract management processes, including development and integration of contract tools, templates, and processes
Organize, track, and monitor project contracts in collaboration with PMs, supply chain, finance, and department leaders
Coordinate with PMs to obtain contract support documents and electronically file executed contracts
Collaborate with PMs and contract owners to support implementation
System Administration
Manage the development & construction project management information system
Maintain project logs and tracking of relevant data and information for use by project staff
Prepare reconciliations of project financial data across organizational platforms, ensuring completeness and integrity of project data
Program Management
Coordinate all development and construction responsibilities for external funding/grant programs
Collaborate with the sponsored programs administrator to ensure timely and accurate submission of all required documentation for external funding/grant programs
Compliance/Safety
Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED - Required
Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent relevant experience (5+ yrs) - Required
Master's Degree, or equivalent relevant experience (8+ yrs) - Preferred
Certification & Licensures
Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) - Preferred
Experience
5+ years' accounting experience - Required
3+ years' experience in project accounting - Preferred
Healthcare related construction experience - Preferred
Superior analytical skills, with an ability to multi-task, and demonstrated ability to solve complex problems - Required
Proven ability to independently set and meet deadlines, while working in a fast-paced environment, across multiple projects - Required
Excellent oral and written communication, as well as ability to maintain confidentiality and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders - Required
Strong computer skills and knowledge of relevant technology (including: Microsoft Office, Enterprise Resource Planning system, construction management system, contract management system, Blue Beam) to generate reports, build and track project plans, as well as read and redline architectural drawings - Required
