Reporting to the Mineral Land Administration Supervisor, you will be responsible for administering AB/SK Crown leases/licenses and Freehold leases, as well as Canadian Natural issued Fee leases to ensure that ongoing obligations are met, including, but not limited to, rental payments, expiries, continuations, offsets and obligation/default notices.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Mineral Land Administration Supervisor, you will be responsible for administering AB/SK Crown leases/licenses and Freehold leases, as well as Canadian Natural issued Fee leases to ensure that ongoing obligations are met, including, but not limited to, rental payments, expiries, continuations, offsets and obligation/default notices.
- Job location: Calgary, Alberta
- Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts
- Safety sensitive position: No

Key Accountabilities:
- Timely input and verification of mineral data to the land system for acquisition and disposition of Crown and Freehold leases as well as issuance of leases from Canadian Natural owned titles
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders (Exploration/Operations teams, Accounting, Partners and applicable Provincial regulatory departments)
- Promptly respond to internal and external accounting and audit queries
- Enter and follow up on obligations related to day to day area administration within the Land system
- Review of acquisition files with assigned deadlines
- Assist with special projects as required and provide support to Area Negotiators on identified projects
What You Bring to the Role:
- 5-10 years of progressively responsible Mineral Land Administration experience with a Petroleum Land Administration certificate or related post-secondary education
- A strong working knowledge of:
- Alberta and Saskatchewan Crown Regulations;
- Navigating Alberta Crown ETS, Continuations, Surrenders, Offsets, etc.
- Alberta Land Titles Spin II, Title Searches, Caveat Registrations/withdrawals, etc.
- Saskatchewan Crown IRIS, Prelim Notice, Final Notice, Continuations, Offsets, etc.
- Saskatchewan Land Titles ISC, Title Searches, Caveat Registrations/withdrawals, etc.
- Proficiency in the MSOffice suite and computer land systems is essential with preference given to candidates who have experience with QBLM
- Experience with:
- Alberta and Saskatchewan Crown leases and various forms of Freehold leases
- Lease Assignment, estate issues, caveat registration and withdrawal
- Freehold lease terms and a solid understand of the requirements of such terms
- Knowledge of Title/Headlease/Sublease relationships
