The Manager is responsible for all aspects of the multi-faceted Central Services department. The Manager supervises the sending and deliveries of mail and packages and maintains and updates policies and procedures related to Academy mail and package delivery. The hands-on and public nature of the work requires professionalism and a cooperative spirit to establish and maintain productive work relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, students, vendors and four direct reports. Exceptional customer service skills required. This position will be responsible for designing, planning, and directing the relocation of the mail center to a new purpose-built building within the next 5-years.

Reporting to the Director of Business Services and Risk Management, the Manager plans, assigns, supervises, and evaluates the work of four direct reports. They develop and train staff to ensure compliance with Central Services policies and procedures and mail industry best practices. The manager supervises all aspects of the mail center including but not limited to managing relationships with Amazon and the Academy's office supply vendor as well as managing the mailing and shipping programs with companies including USPS, FedEx, and UPS, ensuring accurate charges and discounted rates for the Academy. The Manager supervises the year-round distribution of both domestic and international mail and packages for students, staff and faculty members in a residential environment.

The ideal candidate will possess analytical, creativity and problem-solving skills. They will build and manage the department budget. Preferred experience includes five to seven years related supervisory and budget management experience in a mailroom or similar environment essential. A bachelor's degree preferred.

This is a year-round, exempt staff position. As this is a working manager position, the physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds individually and 75 pounds with a colleague and perform all Central Services (Mailroom) job functions is required.
