GENERAL DEVELOPMENT
SUMMARY
Provide medical care related to pregnancy or childbirth and diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases affecting the female reproductive system. Responsible for comprehensive patient care during prenatal, natal, and postnatal periods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following, and other duties may be assigned:
- Maintain patient schedule to maximize productivity by obtaining patient health history and completing physical examinations.
- Care for and treat women during prenatal, natal, and postnatal periods.
- Ensure accurate and thorough documentation by documenting patient visits, patient preparation, and responses to procedures.
- Record normal or abnormal test findings in the electronic health record (EHR) and indicate proper charges for each visit or delivery.
- Order appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, review results with patients, prescribe medications as needed, and address patient tasks daily.
- Educate patients by explaining procedures or prescribed treatments, reviewing care plans, setting expectations, and advising patients on diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Provide brochures and printed literature to patients as needed.
- Communicate effectively by reviewing action plans and ongoing treatment with the primary care physician.
- Work effectively as a team member with nursing, support staff, and other providers.
- Participate in the on-call schedule as required.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and EMR security, adhering to HIPAA standards.
- Keep care team members informed when situations occur that disrupt timely patient flow.
- Consistently participate in and actively adhere to patient care expectations to attain clinical goals set forth in the Premier Community HealthCare Group Health Care Plans and the Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance (QI/QA) program.

- Active medical license in the state of Florida.
- Board Certified.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and documentation.
- Ability to use basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.

- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Excellent grammar, spelling, and interpersonal skills.
